The FirstFrontDoor(FFD) program provides down payment and closing costs assitance to eligible First-Time Buyers. Offered through participating FHLBank Pittsburgh (FHLBank) members that provide first-mortgage financing.
By contributing a minimum of $1,500 towards down payment and closing costs, homebuyers are eligible for a maximum FFD grant of $15,000.
Homebuyer contributions can be savings, a gift, a tax refund, an inheritance, or any other funds the homebuyer personally contributes to the purchase. Homebuyer contributions can not be other loans, grants or sellers assistance/equity.
FFD funds can be used with Conventional, FHA , VA and other types of financing.
Homebuyers must retain the home for five years from the loan closing date in order to keep the full amount of the grant. If the home is sold prior to five years, some of the grant subsidy may need to be repaid. Generally 20% of the grant is forgiven for each full year the home is owned.
First Front Door is offered by members of FHLBank Pittsburgh. Homebuyers must finance their first mortgage through a participating FFD provider in order to access the FFD funds.
